Unreal Connectors courses
Slide 1 of 4
The six-week Storytelling Connector course consists of 24 classes that touch the central tenants of linear animated storytelling and film production. This includes all primary disciplines of traditional animation—such as story, modeling, layout, lighting, and rendering—along with previsualization and visual effects production.
This course will appeal to traditional 3D/CG artists looking to re-skill themselves in real-time technology, as well as influencers such as directors, cinematographers, or VFX supervisors, and to game industry personnel with an interest in cinematics.
In-Camera Visual Effects (ICVFX)
The three-week In-Camera Visual Effects (ICVFX) Connector course follows on from the Storytelling course, extending the course material to the stage. It focuses on workflows for LED volumes, including hardware and signal flow, nDisplay configuration, camera lens, node and wall calibration, optimization of content, tools and Blueprints, and most importantly, stage operations.
The three-week Worldbuilding Connector course examines the technical foundations of creating new environments and scene assemblies for animation and VFX productions. It focuses on production design, Unreal Engine modeling tools, advanced ingestion techniques with Datasmith, Quixel, landscape creation, lighting atmospherics, materials, composition tools and techniques, raytracing, Nanite, Lumen, foliage/grass, Niagara, and post-processing techniques.
The three-week Animation Connector course examines the principles of animation and the technical foundations of animating in Unreal Engine. It focuses on Sequencer, keyframe animation and the principles of animation, Animation Blueprints, Control Rig construction, augmenting mocap with additive layering, Live Link, Take Recorder, retargeting, and Movie Render Queue.
Learning Unreal has blasted open previously unattainable worlds and possibilities for me and my career.
